REAL LIFE, WILD HEALTH

Week 1: During the first week of my internship I had the opportunity to observe multiple doctors and staff members at The Royal Treatment Veterinary Center. Among them were Alex K. during multiple underwater treadmill rehab sessions, Dr. Herndobler performing acupuncture, Pam P. performing a massage, and Dr. Royal throughout her day examining patients. Throughout the week, I was able to observe many cases, however one of the most interesting cases that I observed was a husky that presented with head bobbing and urination which lead to the conclusion that these were signs of cannabis intoxication. Additionally, I picked up several tips about dietary changes that could affect dogs’ overall health that I look forward to implementing on my own dogs. I am eager to see what other clinical skills and holistic practices I will learn along the way!
